On this rainy Sunday morning, I have decided to begin blogging again. I've had a niggling feeling for sometime, almost as if all the information and emotions that I have stored in my body are waiting for the emergency exit sign to light up and aid them in finding a way out.
Today, I shall begin.
To give you a little bit of background, I am a Montessori teacher. I have seen my way through university, my first year of teaching and then onwards to train in Italy for my Diploma in Montessori education. I cannot imagine another path for me, yet I reflect and think to myself that things could have been so different if I had taken just one step off the path.
Currently, I am a teacher of 6-12 year olds in a brand new classroom. This brand new classroom was built as an extension to an Early Childhood Centre or Casa as we refer to them in Montessori terms. We opened in September last year and the head count is gradually growing.
At the end of a school day I feel like collapsing into bed! This last year has been utterly exhausting and with this exhaustion comes laziness to sit and reflect on how awesome life can be in and out of school.
Blogging will be an opportunity for me to sit back, smile and ponder the happenings in the classroom. Sometimes the sweetest things happen, but can often be forgotten.
Welcome again, to my ABC's of gratitude.
